Genesis 26:1-5 ESV
Now there was a famine in the land, besides the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerar to Abimelech king of the Philistines. And the Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you. Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and will bless you, for to you and to your offspring I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father. I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”
In our lifetime, there will inevitably be periods of scarcity and shortages in the world. However, as believers, we can be confident that God has a victorious plan for His people. As Isaac contemplated going to Egypt to escape the famine, the Lord appeared to him and revealed His plan for success. The Lord instructed Isaac to dwell in the land and prosper.
It is noteworthy that Isaac was facing a severe famine. Let us revisit God’s instructions to Isaac. “Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and will bless you, for to you and to your offspring I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father. I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed…” God’s plan was not limited to blessing Isaac but extended to blessing all nations through the seed, Jesus Christ.
The narrative concludes with Genesis 26:12-13 ESV, which states, “And Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. The Lord blessed him, and the man became rich, and gained more and more until he became very wealthy.”
Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year, demonstrating God’s faithfulness and manifestation of the blessing. This same blessing is available to every born-again believer through Christ.
In 2025, God has a specific plan and strategy for your success. God is not arbitrarily selecting winners and losers. Instead, His desire is for all nations to be blessed, just as Isaac was blessed. In addition, God’s plan is not contingent upon your abilities or current circumstances. As believers, we must seek God and walk out His plan for this year through faith. We can trust that He will provide a great plan, a plan that will bring victory and propel you forward into His blessing. The ultimate result will be a testament to the greatness and goodness of God.
Blessings
