Luke 13:13 KJV
And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
Today, I would like to spend some time talking about the “anointing factor” to receive immediate results. In the Book of Acts, Peter tells Cornelius that Jesus was anointed by God. Chapter 10, verse 38,
“How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.”
Many think Jesus ministered out of His divinity while on Earth, but that is not what scripture says. It tells us that God anointed Him to minister and when Jesus laid His hands on this woman, the anointing that was in Him and on Him restored her completely.
The anointing is the burden removing, yoke destroying, power of God. It says in the Amplified Classic Bible that the anointing is for curing all who are harassed and oppressed by the Devil.
This same anointing is available to every born again believer.
1 John 2:20 NIV
“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.”
Paul talking about the anointing power of God says in 2 Corinthians 4:7 NCV,
“We have this treasure from God, but we are like clay jars that hold the treasure. This shows that the great power is from God, not from us.”
Instead of the word treasure, you could say anointing, which is the manifested presence, goodness and power of God. Our bodies are fragile, but inside every believer is God’s power to overcome every obstacle.
Here are several important things about the anointing:
- The anointing is based upon a relationship, not a formula;
- The anointing is tangible, and it is transferable;
- The anointing will always flow into an individual who places a demand upon it; and,
- Never take the anointing for granted.
Faith in God activates the anointing and the result is joy. “Now he which established us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” (2 Corinthians 1:21-22)
You are anointed by God, and just as Jesus said in John 14, the works I do you shall do even greater, because I go to the Father.
We saw the anointing increase in Paul’s ministry. We see this in Acts 19:11-12 AMPC,
“And God did unusual and extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, So that handkerchiefs or towels or aprons which had touched his skin were carried away and put upon the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.”
These types of miracles have taken place throughout Church history. When we become yielded to God through the Holy Spirit ,the power of God can freely flow. You can think about the anointing as we think about electricity. Electricity needs a conductor to flow freely. In the same way the anointing needs a vessel who is allowing God’s power to flow.
Many things can hinder the anointing:
- Doubt and unbelief,
- Sin,
- Distractions from the world,
- Carnal mindedness, and
- Lust for other things
When Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead, He removed the people who were in unbelief and ridiculing Him. In the same way we must remove any obstacles that will hinder the anointing.
If you need healing or deliverance today, draw on God’s anointing. For the anointing will bring immediate results. Spend time in fellowship and prayer with our Heavenly Father. Take time to meditate on the anointed Word of God.
Say this with me, “Father, Your Word declares that by the stripes that Jesus bore for me, I am healed, and made whole. Your Word also declares that I have an unction from the Holy One, and I know the truth. The truth is that I am healed, and made whole and every cell of my body must line up with the Word of God. I thank you for healing me and setting me free in the Name of Jesus.
Blessings
